We've worked hard to make allabouthair one of Streatham’'s leading hair salons, with a close-knit team of stylists and barbers delivering quality cuts and colour since 1967. And we believe we deliver some of the most cutting-edge hairdressing, styling and colour treatments in Streatham - and south London.
We don'’t use library shots or supplier photos. Every haircut and colour you see has been personally designed for that client. And every one of them will have had a full (and honest) consultation before we pick up a pair of scissors. Extensions
We hate glue-ins. They cost a small fortune and can ruin your own hair if left in for too long.
But we love clip-ins.
JoJo is our in-house specialist - and if you'd like to see how good clip-ins can look just check her photo! Consultations with Lindsay can be booked as part of any standard appointment, and for existing clients this is completely free. She'll take the time to help you decide whether clip-ins might be right for you, and will go through any questions you might have about colour, aftercare, and styling. Our colour specialist Paula can also tweak or change your own existing colour to match your new extensions (although, obviously, we'll have to charge for this).
What does it cost?
Extensions can be huge fun and, if they don't change your life, can certainly change your look. But only with professional help. Extensions aren't cheap: but an initial 20-minute consultation (for which we charge new clients £10) will pay for itself if it saves you from making an expensive mistake.
We only use top-quality Remy extensions (which are made from real human hair), for which you should expect to pay between £120 and £200. Our service includes:

Working with us
We are always interested in hearing from young and trainee stylists. If your career has stalled and you can't see a way forward, maybe your training isn't all it should be, or there's just no way up at your current workplace - then call us.
Our standards and expectations are high, so your commitment will need to be. If you're talented and energetic, and if you want close one-on-one training in cutting, colour, and communication, then we should probably talk.
Get in touch with anyone on the team and tell us a little about yourself and your hairdressing background. You will probably have completed NVQ Level 1 and/or Level 2, with some in-salon experience working with colour and foils - or you might be a starter stylist, doing some basic cuts. Alternatively, you could be a bit more skilled, and looking for a worthwhile environment with quality education and development.

AgeSmart and ChromaWhite treatments carry a surcharge and are only available with a one hour appointment.
Our treatments include a 'Face Mapping' analysis to enable your therapist to design a treatment unique to you.
Our 60-minute and 75-minute sessions include: double-cleansing, exfoliation, extractions

Founder Richard first opened what was then called Barnets in 1967. We’'ve reinvented ourselves three more times since then –- as Jigsaw , and allabouthair –- before working with our associate company Beauty Indulgence to form allabouthairandbeauty.
Richard is involved in all aspects of the business, with a passion for helping every team member grow and learn their craft.

John (not Wednesday or Sunday)
Having worked in Covent Garden for a well known salon, John has worked in Streatham for almost 10 years, joining allabouthairandbeauty in 2007. One of our most popular team members, John has a large and very loyal client base.
Paula (Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday)
With us now for almost 14 years, Paula juggles her huge colour clientele with a busy life raising three young sons. Her deep understanding of products and techniques, coupled with her very speedy skill-set, mean she is many clients' first choice for top-quality colour work. Colour consultations with Paula are free, but you'll need to book well in advance.
Tia
The salon couldn'’t run without Saturday assistant Tia'‘s coffee-making skills -– not to mention her fabulous shampoos (complete with head massage).

The list here serves as a general guide to salon prices, and may vary. For example, if you have very long or very thick hair the final cost will be a bit higher than the average costs shown here. You'll be given an inclusive quote, if you ask for one, before we start work.

Until now, we thought that Brazilian blow-drys did not represent good value for money, because the cost was just too high. But we’ve now sourced a first-class product(the results are outstanding!) at what we think is a value-for-money price. And – at less than 1.5% by volume, it’s virtually formaldehyde free (and well within government-approved limits, although we won’t perform this service if you are pregnant or breastfeeding). Katy is our fully trained Brazilian specialists and will be able to talk through any concerns you might have. Prices start at £90, depending on product usage and time. Call Katy for a full consultation.

We're three minutes north of Streatham Hill station, and Brixton tube is a 10-15 minute bus ride away - take any bus heading for Streatham, Tooting or Croydon and get of at Ladbrokes (one stop after Telford Avenue). You'll find us two doors down from Dominos Pizza.
If you're coming up from Croydon get off at Streatham Hill station and it's about 80 metres up.
Parking
Yes, you can still find free parking where we are.
The best spots are Cricklade Avenue and Downtown Avenue (both opposite the salon) and the roads on either side of the salon (Ardwell Road and Barrhill Road) are always worth a try. The 20-minute bay directly outside can be useful if you're in for a consultation or a fringe trim.
